Laid off. Again.
The first thing I did was buy a ticket to Newark to visit my old roommate. Then I filed for unemployment.
While getting lunch at Supercore in Williamsburg, I gave a dirty look to the free magazine sitting next to me on the windowsill. Its title, Chopsticks, irked me. My old roommate said it was good, so I leafed through it. And it was great, all about the cool Japanese stuff going on in New York right now. I said to her, “Why doesn’t L.A. have something like this?”
After returning to L.A., I bought my first laptop and my first camcorder. Then I deposited the first unemployment check.
Still on the dole. Lots of free time. Ain’t no better opportunity to show and tell you about all the cool Japanese stuff going on in Los Angeles right now.
